Today the coastal states particularly those in the western areas are facing the crisis due the cyclone Tauktae, and our main goal as a responsible political party should be to help authorities and people affected by the cyclone. We should ensure that relief reaches the cyclone affected people without any delay and relief and rescue operations are conducted swiftly without wasting any time.

Firstly we have to ensure that a list of party volunteers who will look after the relief and rescue operations in the cyclone affected states their list is prepared without any delay and is circulated so that people in distress and need can contact them immediately. Also, the list of all district level coordination committees is also made public without any delay so that there is no delay or confusion in coordination in relief and rescue operations.

Our volunteers who are conducting and coordinating in relief and rescue operations should be told to help and coordinate with various government agencies carrying out relief works like civil administration, health department, fire department and local civic bodies.

We will have to develop a support system at the panchayat level to provide relief and help people affected by cyclone in coast areas. Therefore, I would request our MP, MLAs and other people’s representatives coming from the coastal areas to alert all your representatives, panchayat samiti representatives and party workers to ensure smooth coordination with teams engaged in relief and rescue operations.

It is the responsibility of all the Bharatiya Janata Party MPs and MLAs to get in touch with the members of zila parishad, panchayats, block development councils etc in advance and tell them about the preparedness so that there is no last minute glitches in carrying out the relief and rescue operations and timely help could be provided to all those affected by the cyclone.

We should also be in close contact with the fishermen community and should also talk to them constantly so that whatever relief and help they require can be provided to them without any delay. The Bharatiya Janata Party volunteers have to work in close coordination with local authorities to ensure this.

We have to also get ready in terms of preparing for medical relief that would be required to help the cyclone affected people. We have to help the medical staff, health officials, chief medical officers, doctors and paramedics in carrying out relief and rescue work in the cyclone affected areas.
