In coming times, the BJP will have a substantial share in municipal and Vidhan Sabha elections. We’ve increased our vote base in the state and we are committed to being a driving political force in the state.

*****************

We should emphasize on youth, women, tribals, Dalits & people at the grassroots and we must try & bring them to the mainstream. The BJP will be able to improve the standard of living of the people in the state.

The DMK has always been working against the national spirit. People involved in anti-national activities are being sheltered by the DMK. We will give a befitting reply to those who are doing petty politics on the issues of national securities.

During the lockdown, all the political parties locked themselves, but the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was the one and only party that took a pledge of ‘Seva Hi Sangathan’ and set a wonderful example of public service.

I bow to the people of Tamil Nadu for the rich culture they have.” Tamil is one of the most ancient languages, said Nadda, while addressing the meeting. The contribution of Tamil Nadu in creating and shaping India cannot be forgotten. We are proud that our former National President Shri Jana Krishnamurthy ji was also from Tamil Nadu. He emphasized that in coming times, the BJP will have a substantial share in municipal and Vidhan Sabha elections. We’ve increased our vote base in the state and we are committed to being a driving political force in the state. I am happy to say that the BJP state unit under the dynamic leadership of Shri Murugan ji is doing well. He also reminds of BJP’s peaceful protest on the Karuppar Koottam issue.

Taking a dig at the DMK, the BJP President said that the DMK has always been working against the national spirit. People involved in anti-national activities are being sheltered by the DMK. We will give a befitting reply to those who are doing petty politics on the issues of national securities. I would like to urge that the administrators and political parties should look into it and work together on the issues of national interests.

Talking about COVID-19 crisis, Shri Nadda said, during lockdown, all the political parties locked themselves, but the Bharatiya Janata Party under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was the one and only party that took a pledge of ‘Seva Hi Sangathan’ and set a wonderful example of public service. During the lockdown, every single party karyakarta engaged in social service and brought great relief to the people. We provided every possible support to the needy people with face covers, Sanitizers and food packets & ration kits under the ‘Feed the Needy’ program. We have also raised funds for PM Cares and made people aware about Arogya Setu App. Tamil Nadu BJP State Unit has done a wonderful job during the lockdown and helped the people. I want to thank Tamil Nadu BJP unit for this.

The BJP President said, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, the nation got ready to fight COVID-19. He took a bold and timely decision of lockdown to prepare the nation and 130 crore Indians to fight the pandemic.

Shri Nadda also shared details of the Modi government’s work to boost health care measures to battle the pandemic and to provide relief to people, especially the poor, with several packages. He elaborated on various measures taken by the Modi govt such as dedicated COVID-19 hospitals, production of masks and PPE kits. Praising the Modi government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, Nadda said, “Initially, there were no dedicated COVID hospitals in the country but now we have thousands of COVID dedicated hospitals and dedicated health care centres. More than 44,000 ICU beds are there. We have 12.50 lakhs Covid beds and more than 2,000 COVID-19 testing facilities. We have achieved a testing capacity of 10 lakhs a day. The recovery rate has reached 74 per cent in the country. PM CARES funded 50,000 ventilators have been manufactured in India. Earlier, India had no facility to make PPE kits. By encouraging local entrepreneurs, we’re producing 5 lakh PPE kits daily and now exporting PPE kits and face masks, he continued. Further, he hailed Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana saying that 80 crore people across the country are benefited with this scheme. He said that the way Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji took bold steps and united 130 crore people in a decisive battle against Kovid-19 is amazing.

The BJP President said, Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan was launched with a package of Rs.20 lakh crore, which showed the country to become economically self-reliant. The Prime Minister gave the mantra to convert pandemic into opportunity for the betterment of the country. One lakh crore rupees have been allocated for agricultural infrastructure reforms. Collateral free loan of Rs 3 lakh crore allocated for rejuvenation of MSMEs out of which nearly Rs.1.5 lakh crore has been released. Two installments of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Samman Nidhi Scheme were released and credit cards were given to more than 2.5 crore farmers. He also renewed PM’s pitch for ‘Vocal for Local and make it global’.

Speaking on the National Education Policy, Shri Nadda said that the last National Education Policy came in 1986 & in 1968 before that. In 1986, It was just a change in figures, and there were no changes in policies and spirit. Now, we can say with full command, it is for the first time that India has an independent Education Policy under Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. The medium of instruction will be regional languages, helping strengthen the base of students. Under NEP, rich and poor are both going to get qualitative and affordable education. Acceptability has also been improved as local languages are set to be used as a mode of education till class 8. Exams in the current system are subjective. Students memorize things and write them down. But now, a conceptual and analytical approach will be put in place in the new education system.

The BJP President asserted that we should emphasize on youth, women, tribals, Dalits & people at the grassroots and we must try & bring them to the mainstream. Special efforts & drives should be there for empowering them. All political workers & the state executive members are the crusaders for change. He expressed confidence that the BJP will be able to improve the standard of living of the people in the state. He also talked about some of the major decisions taken by the BJP-led government at the Centre including Ram Temple, abrogation of Article 370, NIA Act amendment and criminalising triple talaq.
