I pay my respect and offer rich tributes to Honourable Shri Gopinath Munde ji on his seventh Death Anniversary. Shri Munde ji will always be remembered as a mass leader with deep roots. He always enjoyed massive support across various communities like farmers, Dalits, backward classes, deprived people, labourers, working class. Shri Munde was a strong voice of these communities at the national level.
Honourable Shri Munde Ji’s life was a unique combination of struggle and courage. He belonged to the backward community but was a mass leader and very popular among Tribal communities, Scheduled Caste, farmers and backward communities. Apart from being a mass leader and big political personality, he was also a farmer.
There were several unique traits of the personality of Shri Munde ji like he was very sensitive to people’s problems, he was a very pragmatic leader and never kept ill will against anyone. All these great qualities of the great leader every worker and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party should strive to inculcate. We should all follow the path shown by Honourable Shri Munde ji.
When Honourable Shri Munde ji was young he was instrumental in laying the foundation of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Maharashtra. He worked hard to ensure that the Bharatiya Janata Party reaches to Dalits, backward communities, poor people and the working class. It is due to the struggle and sacrifices of Honourable Shri Munde ji that today the Bharatiya Janata Party is the biggest political party in Maharashtra.
Under the leadership and guidance of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre in its seven years of rule has worked very hard to work for the welfare and upliftment of all communities particularly poor and deprived, farmers, Dalits, backward classes, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes, labourers and workers. All the efforts of the Narendra Modi government are remarkable and unprecedented. Honourable Shri Gopinath Munde ji used to dream of such a Government which should work for the welfare and development of all communities, particularly deprived and backward classes.
We all should strive to follow the footsteps of Honourable Shri Gopinath Munde ji and work for making lives of the poor, farmers, labourers, Dalits, deprived, backward and needy people better and easier. We should all become voices of poor, deprived and weaker sections of the society. This will be an apt tribute and respect to our beloved leader Shri Munde ji.
On one hand Honourable Shri Munde ji used to keep the issues and problems of farmers in Parliament with ease and also would take farmers on a trip to Parliament, and on the other hand he would interact with the delegations from Japan and China very comfortably while sitting in the Bharatiya Janata Party office. His simplicity was a remarkable feature of his personality.
Honourable Shri Munde Ji’s memory was so sharp that he used to call the Bharatiya Janata Party workers and office bearers of towns, villages in Maharashtra with their names. Shri Munde ji was well aware about the politics and people’s nerves in Maharashtra. He had remarkable knowledge of the topography and geography of Maharashtra.
Despite being at the top of his political career and with so much prominence, Shri Munde ji was always a grounded leader thinking of welfare of poor and deprived people. Whosoever accompanied him during his trips Shri Munde used to brief him about the importance and highlights of that place, particularly about the rural significance of that place and about its villages.
The commitment and belongingness of Honourable Shri Munde ji for upliftment and welfare of poor people was always evident from his work. He was the one who started a scheme to provide food at affordable cost to the poor. His revolutionary Slum Punarwas Yojna considerably improved the lives of those living in slums in Mumbai and it changed their lives forever.
Shri Munde strived very hard to make the better lives of the sugarcane farmers and workers. It was due to the inspiration of the work done by Shri Munde ji that the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Maharashtra under Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis created a separate ‘Mahamandal’ for welfare of the workers of sugarcane farms.
