SALIENT POINTS OF THE ADDRESS OF THE BJP NATIONAL PRESIDENT SHRI JAGAT PRAKASH NADDA GIVEN TODAY AT THE JOINT PRESS CONFERENCE OF THE BJP -LED COALITION IN PUNJAB

In Punjab the Bharatiya Janata Party, Punjab Lok Congress and Sanyukta Akali Dal — the three parties are jointly contesting the assembly elections where the BJP wilk field its candidates in 65 assembly constituencies, Punjab Lok Congress in 37 seats and Sanyukta Akali Dal in 15 seats. Punjab needs double engine government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party : Jagat Prakash Nadda.

The people of Punjab are seeing the Bharatiya Janata Party led coalition in the state as a medium for change in government, which will pave way for securing the future of the generations of the state to come and give stability to Punjab : Jagat Prakash Nadda

Despite being a progressive state Punjab is in a massive debt of Rs 3 lakh crores. Punjab is also sliding down in the development index. It is the responsibility of the Bharatiya Janata Party led government to make Punjab financially strong and successful state : Jagat Prakash Nadda.

The security and safety of Punjab is our topmost priority. We strongly condemn the manner in which the Congress government has been handling the safety and security of Punjab. The Bharatiya Janata Party strongly believes in zero tolerance against terrorism : Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Mafia raj has ruined Punjab . Land mafia, sand mafia, drug mafia, mining mafia — they all have ruined and destroyed Punjab : Jagat Prakash Nadda.

In Punjab, the Bharatiya Janata Party, Punjab Lok Congress and Sanyukta Akali Dal have made this commitment to the people of the state that we will end all kinds of mafias in Punjab and bring transparency and accountability in governance : Jagat Prakash Nadda.

For security, peace and development of the country it is imperative that there is peace and tranquility in Punjab. Under the leadership and guidance of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, the safety and prosperity is the most important issue for the Bharatiya Janata Party led coalition in Punjab : Jagat Prakash Nadda.

The manner in which Pakistan is conspiring to destabilize Punjab and our country and dumping drugs, arms, automatic arms through smuggling, it is very worrying and disturbing : Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Under the leadership and vision of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, India is progressing fast in all parameters and all sections of the society is taken care of. But some anti national forces are trying to derail and disturb our growth and development. These anti national forces are also trying to create unrest and disturbances in Punjab too : Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has special love and affection for Punjab and its people. He has taken historical decision that December 26 will be observed as Veer Bal Diwas to honour and commemorate great valour and supreme sacrifices of the ‘Sahibzades’ of Guru Gobind Singh ji. It is true tributes to the sons of Guru Gobind Singh ji and the nation will always remain indebted to their supreme sacrifices : Jagat Prakash Nadda.

The kind of work and initiatives our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has done for the Sikh community, it is matter of great pride and satisfaction for all of us. Earlier there was no provision for taking foreign contributions for Shri Shri Harmandir Sahib ji, but after the intervention, inspiration and initiatives of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, Shri Shri Harminder Sahib ji has started getting foreign contributions : Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Earlier even the ‘langars’ used to be taxed, and it is our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji who made our ‘langars’ tax – free. It is the Narendra Modi Government which constructed the Kartarpur Sahib corridor. His government modernised the Sultanpur – Lodhi railway station. It is on the initiative of the Narendra Modi Government that the 350th ‘Prakash Parv’ was celebrated across the country with fervour and gaity : Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji fulfilled all the demands and wishes of the Sikh community which includes the renovation and reconstruction of the Jalianwala Bagh Memorial, the removal of names of Sikhs from the blacklist , bringing the culprits of the 1984 anti Sikh riots to justice. All these important steps were taken under the decisive, sensitive and responsive Narendra Modi government : Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Our strong coalition of the three parties is highly committed for the peace, safety, security, prosperity and development of Punjab and its people. The safety and prosperity of Punjab is our only goal and mission. From the very beginning my stand has been that Pakistan is trying to spread poison of hate and instability in Punjab : Captain Amrinder Singh.

The manner in which arms and ammunition, and drugs are being supplied in Punjab from across Pakistan through smuggling and by using drones, it is a matter of deep concern. And the only motive behind this is to destabilize Punjab and create unrest and lawlessness in the state. It is also aimed at fanning terrorism in Punjab : Captain Amrinder Singh.

In Punjab around 83 jawans have martyred in the last few years due to firing from across the international border . We have to change this scenario . Also , we need to make the economy of Punjab strong and robust : Captain Amrinder Singh.

To change the bad situation of Punjab and to bring peace, prosperity, security and safety in the state the Lok Congress Party has done alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party and Sanyukta Akali Dal : Captain Amrinder Singh.

Today the situation in Punjab is pathetic and highly worrying. Industries and businesses are moving out of Punjab, debt is increasing on the people of the state, and the condition of agriculture is also not good. We have formed this strong alliance so that Punjab can once again stand on its feet and we can make Punjab a strong, peaceful and prosperous state : Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa.

I am thankful to our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for having worked so hard and launched various initiatives for the development , progress and prosperity of the Sikh community. The Narendra Modi government has brought several positive changes in the lives of the Sikh community. The Narendra Modi Government has taken several important steps for the growth and development of Punjab : Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa.

So far no one remembered the great sacrifices of the sons of Guru Gobind Singh ji . Now the decision of the Narendra Modi Government to observe the supreme sacrifices of the ‘Sahibzades’ is a welcome and appreciable step : Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa.

Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji removed names of several Sikhs from the blacklist, besides waiving off GST on langars and constructed Kartarpur Sahib corridor. All these steps of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji are highly commendable. We have to save Punjab and work for the betterment and development of the people of Punjab : Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa.
